Solar system 'Sakona (NEK290)' comprises the star 'Sakona' and the retinue of celestial objects gravitationally bound to it: 11 planets and their 414 moons, as well as asteroids, meteoroids, planetoids, comets, and interplanetary dust.

The principal component of this star system is the star 'Sakona', a red dwarf class star that contains about 99.94% of the system's known mass and dominates it gravitationally. Sakona is located more than 1193 lightyears from the center of the galaxy.

The Ma'sono Expeditionary Unit was dispatched to this system around 30 years before the Interplanetary War broke out. This was considered the maximum range that Ma'sono ships were capable of reaching before having to turn back. This system was home to a near-sentient species called the Sina, being named for the leader of the expedition Commander Sina. There appears to be no artificial constructs anywhere in system, leading to the conclusion that the species here never left the ground.

Sakona.2 is a large terrestrial planet (7641 km radius) which orbits its star in 313 Earth days, one day on Sakona.2 lasts 15 Earth hours. Its average temperature is 441 K (168 C), its atmosphere mainly consists of nitrogen and it has 7 moons.
Sakona.3 is a very large terrestrial planet (11195 km radius) which orbits its star in 760 Earth days, one day on Sakona.3 lasts 12 Earth hours. Its average temperature is 203 K (-70 C), its atmosphere mainly consists of hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen and it has 27 moons.
Sakona.4 is a very large terrestrial planet (11064 km radius) which orbits its star in 1635 Earth days, one day on Sakona.4 lasts 13 Earth hours. Its average temperature is 97 K (-176 C), its atmosphere mainly consists of nitrogen, carbon dioxide and it has 42 moons.
