Solar system 'Fer (REE989)' comprises the star 'Fer' and the retinue of celestial objects gravitationally bound to it: 5 planets and their 78 moons, as well as asteroids, meteoroids, planetoids, comets, and interplanetary dust.

The principal component of this star system is the star 'Fer', a red dwarf class star that contains about 99.99% of the system's known mass and dominates it gravitationally. Fer is located more than 2405 lightyears from the center of the galaxy.

FerI, the first planet in this system, may feature life forms. Its average temperature is 346K (73C) and it's atmosphere contains 25% of oxygen. One year on FerI lasts 200 days, one day lasts 11 hours. It's diameter is 12452 km, 0.9 times the diameter of the Earth.

The warriors of Fer are people of legend. In spite of the systems close proximity to Selos, they have never allowed an attack to reach they homeland--although there have been some battles as close as Fer V.



Other than their extreme bravery and willingness to die for their cause of independence, they are aided by ships and other weaponry that shares a direct intuitive link to it's pilots/controllers. A ship that most species need 3000-5000 crew members to operate can be controlled by only three Ferians.



While there is some overlap, here are how their duties are divided. One takes care of piloting/navigation, one takes care of all weapon systems, and the third is in charge of sensors/communications. At any time, they can switch roles, or reorganize as a two crew team in an extreme emergency (but a pair can't communicate with other ships, unless they bring the vessel to a near dead stop).



The side effects, however, are grave to both mind and body. If the shield is breached and the ship is damaged, they feel the pain so badly is causes psychosomatic damage--and damage sustained this way is permanent, even if it's just a burn or a scar.



More devastating is the fairly high probability of insanity, caused by the strain of heavy combat or major ship malfunction. For this reason, they are not a conquering race--but make no mistake, they aren't afraid to die, and to take as many of the enemy with them as they can.



Body armor and fighter-class vessels are a lot more forgiving. The intuitive link is still there, but they can be restored physically (provided they aren't vaporized). Most of these assignments are given to children, as "training exercises".



Even weapons of planetary destruction haven't defeated them, because they have sent convoys of ships, on a suicide run, and have detonated every single weapon before it had a chance to even enter the Fer System

More recently, in the aftermath of the Chaos Wars and the expansion of the Dacor, this system has finally relinquished it's freedom and become a vassal of the Dacor. The Fer, whose fighting lasted years and fought brilliantly, are being inducted into the Dacor as honorary members and as the 21st species to fight alongside the alliance. The blood which was split to take this system will now be split at the hands of the Fer. New warriors of the Dacor.

FerII is a medium terrestrial planet (6042 km radius) which orbits its star in 498 Earth days, one day on FerII lasts 11 Earth hours. Its average temperature is 206 K (-67 C), its atmosphere mainly consists of nitrogen, oxygen and it has 8 moons.

FerIII is a medium terrestrial planet (5725 km radius) which orbits its star in 915 Earth days, one day on FerIII lasts 12 Earth hours. Its average temperature is 137 K (-136 C), its atmosphere mainly consists of nitrogen and it has 4 moons.

FerIV is a medium terrestrial planet (6588 km radius) which orbits its star in 1682 Earth days, one day on FerIV lasts 10 Earth hours. Its average temperature is 81 K (-192 C), its atmosphere mainly consists of nitrogen, oxygen and it has 13 moons.

This planet has a broadcast beacon, that transmits in all known languages: "Go away. You are not welcome here."

FerV is a very large terrestrial planet (10024 km radius) which orbits its star in 3091 Earth days, one day on FerV lasts 7 Earth hours. Its average temperature is 45 K (-228 C), its atmosphere mainly consists of nitrogen, oxygen and it has 47 moons.

47 moons, either a mining operation, a moon being surveyed for a future mining operations or a munitions stockpile
