THE FLEET
Ganite Fleet Ships (GFS) come in many sizes and classes. From the Carriers, packed with state of the art WASP fighters, to the nimble Shuttle Interceptors like the GFS OSPREY. Larger warships mount supercharged plasma cannons and lasers, designed for heavy broadsides into enemy dreadnoughts. Smaller ships usually employ rapid fire particle weapons, or even rocket banks, darting into an enemy flank and surgically blasting key mechanisms from the target. All attacks coordinated, to the second, in Warspeak, the cryptic Ganite Battle language.

The favored strategy of any Ganite deck officer, is boarding. Given a chance, the fighters will try to knock out communication arrays, blinding the enemy so that they can pick off vital parts in the second pass. Once the enemy vessel is crippled, floating and listless, she can be boarded by the ground troops. Usually the elite Dragoons.

Ganite infantry have been honing their skills for centuries on primitive and hostile worlds throughout the Delta quadrant. Tactics have been boiled down to a handful of versatile and effective principles, that serve in any situation. Despite the prevalence of lasers upon their vessels, Ganite soldiers still prefer to arm themselves with slug throwing automatic weapons and steel tempered "switch-swords" for close work.

During the Great Core War, Polrion was the site of "Alpha Blue" the Ganite command center. Following the vaporisation of Mitrion Kuru, the installation executed "CONTINGENCY REDBIRD" and launched into space to command the counterattack.

General
Harsh and forbidding Polrion, was home to Alpha Blue, the Ganite Fleet Operational Command center. Alpha Blue is a sprawling complex, dominated by a high iron tower. This installation was the headquarters of the Ganite Fleet. All Battle Groups and Task Forces reported to Alpha Blue's communications centre, at least twice a day, and key incidents were passed to the Admiralty in Mitrion Kuru. A posting at Alpha Blue was the final glory on a distinguished career, ensuring a good civilian life following your service.

Alpha Blue was relocated into orbit around Mionnon, and shifted it's directive to tactical control of the Mitrion system. Key officers and equipment had been transferred to the Praggis system, leaving Alpha Blue a stripped down hulk in space, with an uncertain future.

Today, Polrion is best known as the site of the Mitrion Imperial War Museum.
