	RYE red dwarf star RYE Asterisk will be used for elements relating to "real life", such as this paragraph. The info found within this wiki, is a civilization created and conceived by Stephen Schaffer, please note that my spelling and grammar is horrid. This is an ongoing / growing document of the planets and its people. Passage of time and the time log are integral to the story. The "Time Log" will be a very important tool for readers to keep up with the RYE. The log will be located on the wiki page for the 3rd planet in the system "Hesta (TIME LOG). Each log will chronicle the last few years of the RYE. Some log posts will be short others long and still more will fall somewhere in between. The logs could be quite dry and informative, while other could be entertaining and comical. The first log is here on the star home page starting in the RYE year 129 CAD (see below). This log will get you familiar with time frames within this fictional universe. The writing relies heavily on the history of the participants, so dating and keeping things in chronological order is of the utmost importance. The current year is CAD 129 I have been charged with writing the history of the RYE people to date. Our time scale should be explained in detail so that what you read will make chronological sense. Our civilization has created five periods of time to record history. PC / Pre-Cognative = Creation (1.1 billion years) to 247,890 years ago CC / Co-Cognative = 247,889 to 10,256 years ago AD / Ancient Adaptive = 10,255 to 765 years ago SI / Stable Informative = 764 to 0 (start of CAD) CAD / Celestial Advanced Development = 0 to 129 (current date as of writing) PC --- PC, is a measurement of time during the creation of life in our solar system. During this time planets in the RYE system underwent many changes. No notable cognitive life as we know it today existed. However we do have various objects that are celestial in origin that have been dated to this period. We are actively studying and researching these objects for answers. During the PC period, the planets grew massive fauna and the planets formed unique biomes. The animal ancestors of the RYE people, date back to approximately 1.7 Billion PC. This is about as close to the actual date we have been able to get. The first known creature in our evolutionary past is a Cretakor Similar to a reptile. It goes without saying that all life on the planets threw out the RYE system came from single cell organisms, but after those sprang to life...branches started to form quickly. CC --- At the close of the PC period, many cognitive creatures appeared on RYE Prime due to its lush and varied biomes. We call this the co-cognitive period because evidence shows about 8 different intelligent cultures. All existing at the same time and many historians feel that there may have been up to 15-20. Sadly not evidence of the additional cognitive races have been found. The first evidence has dated to 247,889 CC, a small tool called a Scapa knife or scraper was discovered under miles of bedrock. The race who created it was designated as "Leek Origin". In the same general area of the scapa find, other artifacts have been found over the years. Based on bone with DNA evidence the Leek Origin hailed from a Teltog insect creature, but due to the mass numbers of this type of creature we have not been able to determine the exact one. The first evidence of a religious following, burial, and first signs of language. The Leek Origin like many other cognitives never made to the AD period. An oddity of this period was various objects made with refined metal. The technology at this time did not support such creations and the purpose of the objects are not know. One object in particular is made from a celestial metal. Current research to learn more about these objects have yet to yield anything of promise. By the end of the CC period only 2 cognitive races remained. These races formed a mutual bond that worked to ensure survival. The RYE and Vinnix...both races are unique in appearance and sociology. Thus the two races ushered in the new period of time. AD --- The ancient adaptive period starts with the formation of the Duo-Race alliance made between the RYE and Vinnix peoples. Both races had been embroiled in a nasty war with a third race know as the Fritt. To ensure that neither race was destroyed leaders meet to create an alliance. This alliance was so successful that by 10,256 CC the last Fritt city was destroyed and each and every Fritt child was killed. 10,255 was then deemed by an alliance council to be a new era of enlightenment for both surviving races. Modern historians term this period as ancient adaptive, because during this time the alliance learned to adapt many technologies to build larger cities, grow food, medicine and science sprang forth...the pull of arcane and spiritual customs began to wain. Another notable social change during this period was the apparent superiority of the RYE race, who by the end of the period became the dominate of the two. This had not happened due to intellect but to matters of reproduction. The RYE only possessed two sexes and fetal incubation was about 8 months, whereas the Vinnix had three sexes and all three were required to create offspring...not to mention incubation was 14 months. In short order RYE out numbered Vinnix by 3 to 1...then 4 to 1...and this got worse. The saving grace for the Vinnix was intellectual superiority. Social unrest started due to the disparage in population around 1465 AD. The alliance council now mostly under the control of RYE leadership agreed to force the masses into submission by military force after Vinnix council members refused to provide life saving medicine for a plague out break on the continent of Shadin. The Vinnix saw this as an opportunity to even out the the population. Facing the potential of 5-10 million RYE deaths the council agreed to use other means to stop the unrest. By 978 AD the unrest had stopped and it was placed on good authority that if not for the intellect of Vinixx doctors the RYE race would not longer exist. The Vinnix needed to resolve the issue with reproduction, they felt given time the dark period of the population unrest would start again. Research was conducted to find a solution. It was discovered in 2% of the RYE population was an enzyme similar to the one used in Vinnix reproduction. The council agreed to allow this 2% to be used for such a purpose. Any RYE child fitting this profile, is now removed by the state and placed in custody of the Vinnix Reproductive Authority Council. Since the law was formed in 770 AD, there has been an increase of 18% Vinnix population. Unrest it kept at a minimum in regards to ripping children from there parents by the council feeding lies to the population telling them that these children are carriers of an old virus and thus must be removed for public safety. This lie has endured since 770 AD to the present (129 CAD) and is without a doubt the closest kept secret in history. SI --- Stable Informative, has until recently been one of the most enlightened times in RYE history. Technological advances grew by leaps and bounds. One of the driving forces in technological growth, was the need to create better ways to use the limited resources on the planet. With population growths booming and advanced medicines preventing early age death, the drain on the planet started to become critical. This resulted in the water wars of 431 SI, were two protectorates vying over a fresh water lake turned into bloodshed. This incident spilled out to other protectorates threw out the planet. Sadly the death toll, solved the most immediate population problem with close to 25% of the RYE population dead and 6% Vinnix. This set a tone for the council to seek other ways to prevent resource fighting in the future. Spending was green light on technologies in recycling, clean energy and space exploration. Space exploration stayed close to home during the following 200 years, many of the moons have been surveyed and even a few were landed on. Propulsion technology ramped up in the last 100 years of the period after an unexpected discovery on the moon Gala Blue. Some sort of crashed vessel was found during a mining expedition. The vessel was mostly in tact, however nothing had power. The best any of the Vinnix scientists were able to do was fabricate a version of the engine at about 20% efficiency. It was apparent the ship could reach vast speeds somewhere in the range of 7-9 FTL, thus at this time FTL was coined as the new term for the measurement of speed. What had originally been thought impossible was now a distinct reality. A new era dawned with the launch of the first FTL ship in 2 SI. The ship was appropriately called "Whiplash", it had numerous design flaws and the first 2 crews were killed when the ship jumped to FTL .4 and .7 receptively. This was due to the fact no dampers for the internal structure of the ship was in placed. When it jumped, everyone inside was tossed around like a carnival ride with no safe guards! By the time of the 3rd launch, some minor gravitational dampers had been added, along with of all things SEATBELTS. The crew opted for a slower jump of .3 only one crew member died, in what is now more of a joke. His name was Huss Ganto, at the time of launch Huss was on the toilet...yes funny but true. There was no announcement speakers in the bathroom and Huss never knew that launch was starting. When the ship launched so did HUSS, right off the toilet and into the bulk head. POOR HUSS! CAD --- Celestial Advanced Development, is they current time frame the Vinnix scientists are calling it. We now have 7 FTL ships able to safely fly 1.5 FTL. The alliance was renamed in preparation for our first colonies to be placed in the next few years. They are now calling us the RYE Empire. Exploration of our solar system is under full swing and further development of the FTL is an ongoing constant. Plans are underway for a 10-12 year round trip flight to another solar system, once we break the 2 FTL threshold. This is expected to be a reality withing the next few years. Proactively the crew, supplies and even the ship are ready to go...they are just waiting to drop an engine in. The destination is VHA486, and the Vinnix have laid claim to its name.
	Seetha Seetha is a very large terrestrial planet, on an orbit about 59718*10⁶ km from its star. Its' radius is 9431 km, its' mass is 6710. One year on Seetha lasts 291 earth days, one day on Seetha lasts 13 earth hours. Its' average surface temperature is 307, and it has 16 moons. Seetha, the first planet in this system, may feature life forms. Its average temperature is 307K (34C) and it's atmosphere contains 16% of oxygen. It's diameter is 18862 km, 1.4 times the diameter of the Earth. visit Seetha now The RYE have know for many years now that Seetha can support life without artificial means. However no effort has been made to colonize the planet or strip it of natural resources. Even in the past century with easy space travel in the solar system Seetha has been mostly left alone aside from criminals and pirates using it as a hide-out. Until now.... 174 CADv1 //02.23.2015 Just before the year was out a crystal was found encased in a stone/ore sphere about 10 inches in diameter. The crystal is determined to be a information storage device however it is emitting a strong radiation signature and must stay enclosed in the stone/ore sphere. Obviously work is underway to access the information located with in. Sizemic mapping has reviled a large area of the ruins that many have speculated to be ship hanger bay. Excavation crews have been dispatched to clear the rubble and make a safe passage to the area in question. Lots of little trinkets have been found in the ruins and are being looked over. Everything from technological to biological. With no directions enclosed, the scientists are working with these items on a trial and error basis. Only two deaths have been reported thus far in the research of these objects. A few of the trinkets have yielded some nice results. One of the most profound finds was a chemical substance that has been discovered to help in the reproductive fields and shows promise of being able to relieve the Vinnix from having to involve 3 sexes to create offspring. The government is holding onto this gem of information, until they can figure out how to share it properly. If done wrong the Vinnix may see this as an opportunity after all these years to break free and create their own empire. RYE Prime, the second planet in this system, features organic life forms generally very intelligent that have developed a high tech civilisation capable of utilizing hyperspace technology to explore their own solar system as well as distant star systems. I'm Dr Giyal Tengene of the Vinnix Medical Council... I've been asked to give all visitors a run down of the cognitives for our solar system. There are two distinct races native to the RYE system. For starters there is the RYE and then their is my race the Vinnix. The below statistics will be based on a segment of the population and provide averages. As we all know there are those who fall out of the average or on the extremes for any number of reasons. RYE have two sexes KIN Male and SOLET Female. RYE have leathery skin with no hair ranging in color from green to blue. About .5% have genetic mutations that represent pigment as yellow or red. RYE have three cranial ridges that are rippled with the center ridge only being 1/3 the size of the two flanking ridges. The flanking ridges extend beyond the forehead up to 4 inches and resemble horns. Some may turn inwards or swoop back. Just behind the flanking ridges there is an auditory hole covered with an auditory membrane that assists with proper reorganization of sound. RYE who have damaged or non-existent auditory membranes have a hard time hearing sounds properly. RYE eyes are oval and color ranges are the same as skin tone and generally match in 90% of the population. The pupil is slotted from top to bottom on most RYE, however there are 5% with round pupils. Individuals with this condition normally wear a contact to make the eye look normal. Round pupils are associated with weakness and those with the affliction are treated poorly. It has become a emotional/psychological issue over the past few hundred years. RYE have strong hands that showcase fingers twice longer then the hand with nails that are nearly unbreakable. This is in response to AntiE thefts of scientific properties, those including people. The clandestine group is getting harder to track but the issues they create are felt empire wide. Another reason for the increase in spending to make sure that the government maintains control of space exploration and control. The last few years the materials needed to create 1-2.5 FTL ships have gotten so cheap that even wealthy individuals have been making them...or should I say buying them. All across RYE preverbal "CAR" dealerships have been popping up for spacecraft. You can get a 1 FTL ship that seats 4 with small nap rooms and cooking area for the low price of 125k. In the past few years space has turned into a highway all over the system and a few folks in more expensive ships leaving the system to varying degrees of success. The RC has been considering extending the planet based highway patrol system to space. WOW! Get a speeding ticket in space. Laws are being written and things should be in place soon. The religious sect of Vixgraz has started to build a large colony ship. The RC has reluctantly given blessing to this endeavor. The ship will have FTL 4 drives, that are military spec. It took a lot of wrangling by Vixgraz lobbyist to get the drive. Completion should be fairly fast could see a launch with in the next few years. 	Pale Aspers - MILITARY SECRET LOGS Pale Aspers - MILITARY SECRET LOGS is a large terrestrial planet, on an orbit about 21822690*10⁶ km from its star. Its' radius is 8698 km, its' mass is 5264. One year on Pale Aspers - MILITARY SECRET LOGS lasts 5574 earth years, one day on Pale Aspers - MILITARY SECRET LOGS lasts 14 earth hours. Its' average surface temperature is 1422, and it has 49 moons. Log 174v1 CAD //02.23.2015 The military has diverted 27% of its budget to the creation of a secret orbital facility around Pale Aspers. An extremely over sized ship yard and star base. Massive amounts of ore and metal components have been steadily flowing to the base. Most of the government is unaware of this operation. It is being 100% handled internally. The operation/project is being called "Larz" and as expected the military is making a new LARGE ship. At this time only the brass knows what its purpose and function is. One thing for sure is that the ship is utilizing ground breaking technology, but amazingly none that has been discovered on Seetha...the tech is all 100% home grown RYE tech! Both of the solar defender class ship in use are station near the planet and no ship are allowed within scanning range of the planet.
